It’s a Major thing…

Hello my blog-o-riffic peeps!  Sorry for the slight delay in entry land, we will be back on track soon enough I promise.  


Had a small dog issue last week actually.  Long story you’d need lots of wine to hear.  


Buuuut Jason’s parents, Jan and Larry, yes in-fact the same Jan the blog was created for, are here in Germany!  


Why you ask??  Because my dearest Jason is getting promoted to the rank of Major today 🙂


And how is this relevant to a food blog you ask??  


Because we are making individual Beef Wellingtons tomorrow for a celebration meal!!!  


For those who may not be familiar it’s a piece of tenderloin, smothered in mushrooms and an accompanying sauce, and wrapped in puff pastry dough and baked.  They are amazingly fabulous and a touch hard to execute correctly, so yeah…  hehhehheh.. 


And yes for those perfectionists out there, the traditional recipe also has a layer of pate in there as well, but we’re omitting that step in an attempt to avoid a trip to coronary island.  


Everyone wish my boy luck today, and I’ll tell you all about the Wellingtons in short order!

  1. Major Wild!! How cool is that! Congrats to our one and only favorite son-in-law!! And most importantly Mom and Dad Wild are in Germany to help celebrate a most memorable occasion. Another how cool is that!! The Beef Wellington sound wonderful (of course like my daughter) I would leave out the mushrooms and add the duck pate. It's party time! Enjoy.     I heard about your dog story from your dad and mom, frankly my dear it sound like you are getting a bit soft now that you have been out of the AF for over a year.

    We did Jason's Bang Bang Shrimp a few days ago, it was great.
